When it comes to Rock and Metal music productions, many new producers nowadays are trying to speed up their process using shortcuts and presets. They rely a lot on those things, but very often they leave behind what actually makes music special and unforgettable.
It’s very easy to throw a plugin and get a big guitar sound, or have midi drums performing your parts with perfect timing and super clean sounds, but if you’re not very careful these things will take away emotion and character from your music. And that’s a massive mistake, considering that music is all about emotion. Emotion, in fact, is what will make your audience connect with your music.
Here at Black Alley Studio, our goal is to make sure your sound is delivering your message and your feelings. We want our productions to sound organic and alive, but also huge and aggressive at the same time.
RECORDING
Our recording process starts with a very clear idea of what the final product should sound like.
We don’t like to “fix things in the mix”, we always try to get things right at the source.
If you are planning to record on you own and send us your tracks for mixing and mastering, it might be a good idea to have a conversation first to make sure everything is set properly.
MIXING
With mixing we take the concept we initiated in the recording sessions, and we bring it to the next stage where we make it more defined and effective. This is where your music will come alive.
MASTERING
The final part of the process, where we make sure your music is ready for your audience (and also ready to be printed on CD or sent to streaming platforms).
